Included on this final page are a further four CDV images from the Chenery album, in the possession of Francis J. Sargant, as well as a fifth CDV image, contributed by Mr. Martin H. Oogjen III (bgkahuna@frontiernet.net), in January, 2006.

Final set of four carte de visite images with names and dates of images indicated on the reverses as shown below.

The image at top, right shows an officer whose uniform insignia seems to indicate that he was a Union Army Captain. There are a number of Union Army officers with the surname Pierce, but the initials on the reverse of this CDV cannot be properly deciphered for a conclusive identification. Charles Chenery is shown in the view at right, bottom, with two other Paymasters, Arthur Burtis, native of New York, and William N. Watmough, native of Maryland. The view would have been taken after May 4, 1866, as all three were promoted to the full rank of Paymaster on that particular date. Burtis was promoted Pay Director, United States Navy, in May, 1899. Watmough was placed on the retired list in December, 1886, and died on January 20, 1887.

Respective reverses of the carte de visite images shown above.

The image shown above, and reverse, were contributed by Martin H. Oogjen III, from his collection of images of Naval officers.
